Bottled

2015 // video // 07:50 min loop

The bottle and the hand contextualize the magical tales of a genie inside an object. A hand can freely feel, hold, offer and express but when a hand’s movement is restricted a feeling of longing evolves. The living hands stuck inside can be both seductive and powerless at the same time. I am interested in the concept of surveillance through outer and internal exchanges. The hands trapped inside the bottle is a metaphor for today’s surveillance.
